“Coastal Samaritan Counseling Center is a Not-for-Profit?” “Yes, we are!” “We are on a Mission!” Many in our community may not realize that we, as a not-for-profit corporation, continue to be guided by our mission to serve the public interest, rather than to make a profit. We do not make a profit from the services we provide. Rather, we have learned the fine art of financial prudence. We have learned to stretch a dollar like nobody’s business. We have made it so much of nobody’s business, in fact, that may people just don’t realize that we have relied, on the financial support of our community to provide high-quality mental health counseling services to the Grand Strand area. The Board of Directors and the Executive Director of CSCC appeal to you, our community, for financial support. Our worry, however, is that we have not expanded our philanthropic vision widely enough to encompass all who have the ability to support our mission. Insurance simply does not cover the full cost of mental health treatment; and some of our clients do not have insurance or do not have an insurance that covers our services. Even with our prudent management of resources, we cannot provide our service without community financial support. Our mission is to offer high quality psychotherapy and pastoral counseling to individuals, couples, and families; we assist persons who seek relief from suffering and help them bring new healing and hope to their lives. Please remember that we are a not-for-profit mental health counseling center and that you contribution directly supports treatment for those in need.
